General Policies

 

• Each week culminates in a sharing event for family and friends. Students must attend every workshop session to participate in the culminating event. Should your student need to miss, you must notify ASC NYC immediately.

• Students may be picked up only by those individuals listed on the authorized pick up list.

• ASC NYC expects students to respect themselves, each other and the facility. Instances of disruptive or disrespectful behavior may result in dismissal from the workshop (without refund).

 

Refunds/Cancellation policy

 

• ASC NYC does not offer refunds for workshops.

EMMA RAMOS

 

Emma is an international artist living in NYC. She began her career in Mexico in business and politics. After training at the East 15 Drama School in London, Emma moved to NYC where she earned her MFA in Acting from the New School for Drama. Since her arrival in NY, she has steadily worked on stage (Credits include: The Public Theater, SummerStage, Playwrights Horizon, Theater Row, Theater for New City, Soho Rep) her TV debut was for CBS “Unforgettable”and film debut was for Andrew Fierberg's "El Cielo es Azul". Emma has collaborated as a Casting Director and Producer for KIDS TV Shows. As a teacher she worked for Q Talk Method, Dicapo Opera House, Lango Kids NYC, OM Factory Flight School and coaches actors privately through her company On Camera NYC. www.emmaramos.com.

 

 

BERNARDO CUBRIA

 

Bernardo is an actor, writer and teaching artist. He has been in over 50 production in New York city, Philadelphia, Houston and Richmond, Virginia. He has a B.A. from the University of Houston in Theatre and studied at The International School of Comedic Acting in Reggio Emilia, Italy. As a teacher he helped create the bilingual acting program at the University of Houston called Wonderworks for underprivileged teens. He has also taught Shakespeare and Commedia workshops at over 50 different schools in New York with New Perspectives Theatre Company. He was also a Spanish teacher for ages 2-15 at Tribeca Language for three years. For more info www.bernardocubria.com.

 

 

AYO ONEKE CUMMINGS

 

Ayo Onekè Cummings is an actor/educator in New York City.  She earned her BA in Drama form Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and upon graduating she worked for a summer at Georgia Shakespeare. The following year she was trained as an actor/ educator at CLIMB Theatre in Inver Grove Heights, MN, where she acted and taught kid ages 14-18. After CLIMB Ayo moved to New York where she attended the New School for Drama and earned her MFA in acting. While earning her degree she worked at the West Side YMCA Arts Camp as the Assistant Summer Arts Camp Director where she set up a curriculum and taught kids ages 5-14. 

 

 

FLAVIO GAETE

 

Flavio has degrees from Boston University (MM, Viola Performance) and Berklee College of Music (BM, Music Synthesis). He is an active performer in NYC (both classical and pop music): he has recorded for and performed with a variety of artists, including the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, Sonya Kitchell, Michel Gondry, Richard Boulanger, the Mendes Brothers, Pharaoh's Daughter, and the Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Caracas, among others. Additionally, he has been actor training, specializing in Shakespeare, for the last couple of years with Shakespeare & Co. and the Linklater Center. He is an active teacher and has taught music and music technology courses at the Rudolf Steiner School, the Institute of Audio Research, New York University, and Dubspot, as well as privately.

 

 

CRAIG VINCENT NEWMAN

 

Craig is a teacher, actor, and filmmaker living in NYC. Craig's approach to art and teaching is grounded in the unique needs of the subject at hand, whether that be a student, a stage, or a screen. The elements, composition, and rhythm of each subject is what he builds his work around. Craig graduated with high honors from Emory University where he focused on both film and theater training. He has been teaching the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique for almost 5 years, which is the backbone for his approach to performance. Craig has been working specifically with teenage groups of actors for the past 4 years at Peachcraft Studios in Summit, NJ. Craig is also a certified vinyasa yoga instructor. www.craigvincentnewman.com.

Welcome to a ART SUMMER CAMP NYC for kids of all ages! From storybook-loving tykes to spoken word obsessed teens, there’s something for everyone at ART SUMMER CAMP NYC this July & August. These carefully designed one- and two-week programs offer the perfect blend of creativity, fun, and challenge, ensuring an eye-opening, enriching experience for children and young adults alike.

 

All workshops culminate with a final event for family and friends. 

 

In ART SUMMER CAMP NYC, kids and teens will:


• Build self-confidence, practice leadership and teamwork skills, and exercise creativity

• Learn from world-class teaching artists and guests

• Take advantage and prepare your kids for the real world stage and film industry!


Please Note: there is no late pickup for Style and Substance.

Workshop Checklist

 

• We recommend students bring a clearly labeled water bottle every day and proper movement clothes.

• Students will not be permitted to use the vending machines.

• Outside toys, video games and/or other valuable items should be left at home: ASC NYC is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

• Shorts must be worn under skirts.

• Tight fitting jeans/pants/skirts/dresses will not allow students to participate fully in the workshop.

• Please no flip flops.
